My mid summer permaculture garden from 2011
The summer of 2011 was a great year for my garden. I am including pics to showcase how abundant a small permaculture garden can be on a small lot in the city.
One day of harvesting yields a table full of organic food.
Walking into a portal buzzing with life activity.
Lavender hyssop herb for tea and the bees.
Dragonfly resting his wings on the corn.
entry gate with grape vines climbing up.
Fresh picking grapes
3 sisters garden (corn, beans, squash)
un ripe pumpkin
Did you know marigolds produce pyrethrum from their roots. This is a natural bug repellant and makes a great companion planting for edible crops.
Potatoes and carrots
And my favorite strawberries.
sunflower reaching for the sun
small ears of corn growing
ducks scuffling off to their pond.
My mother and daughter with a big pumpkin that fell off the vine before it had the chance to mature into a true monster.
